The RNLI has a network of local fundraising teams organising a wide range of activities and events which last year raised £14 million to save lives at sea. Each team is supported by a Community Manager, although the range and frequency of fundraising events is determined by the team members themselves.

We are currently looking for a Branch Souvenir Secretary to join the Hertford & District Branch.

The impact you will make

You will enable volunteer RNLI lifeboat crews to save lives at sea by raising income selling a range of RNLI souvenirs and gifts at local events

What you will be doing

  • Providing an attractive and well stocked sales display at local events
  • Stock ordering and management
  • Recording and banking of sales income, completion of financial records
  • Sales of souvenirs and gifts together with/or delegating this task to other branch members as required
  • Encouraging and welcoming new members and supporters into the RNLI, driving our One Crew ethos

What you need for this role

  • Numeracy skills
  • Basic IT skills – word/excel/email
  • Confident handling cash
  • Good interpersonal and teamworking skills
  • Merchandising experience (not essential)
