Harbour LGBT+ Network Communications Support Volunteer - Remote
The RNLI’s Harbour LGBT+ Network is looking for a volunteer to join them in the role of Communications Officer
The impact you will make
You will help us save lives at sea by raising awareness of and promoting the activity of the the Harbour network, highlighting the achievements of the network, their events and supporting their celebration of key moments. You will be sharing key messages via digital and social media.
The Harbour Network
The RNLI’s Harbour LGBT+ Network provides peer support for volunteers and staff. We are working to create a more welcoming, diverse, inclusive, and equal organisation for all by holding our leaders to account and by increasing representation and understanding of LGBT+ lives.
What you will be doing
- Promoting and championing the Harbour network through our various communications channels.
- Producing communication opportunities and moments to highlight relevant awareness days and moments throughout the year.
- Attending regular Harbour network meetings and liaising with the co-chairs of the network, inclusion lead and internal comms teams.
- Suggesting new opportunities to raise awareness and build engagement of the Harbour network.
- Creating opportunities to engage with both volunteers and employees.
What you need for this role
- You must be over 18 to carry out this role.
- Excellent writing, communication and IT skills.
- Committed championing equity, diversity and inclusion and elevating voices from minority communities in accordance with our EDI policy.
- Good organisational skills.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Confidence to approach sensitive and open conversations.
- Interest in social media/video editing.
