About us
Join the RNLI’s People Team as a Lead Volunteer – People and play a key role in supporting the development of our people approach. In this exciting opportunity, you’ll collaborate with our leadership team to help design and develop forward thinking initiatives that will support and inspire our people for years to come.
The impact you will make
You will be supporting the development of the innovative, inclusive, and inspiring approaches to our people activity to ensure the RNLI is able to attract, develop, and retain the best people dedicated to saving lives at sea
What you will be doing
- Collaborate with the People Leadership Team to support strategic planning and development.
- Act as a ‘critical friend’ by providing sound, insightful advice and constructive feedback on people-related initiatives.
- Help identify emerging trends and challenges in people management, leadership and engagement.
- Contribute to shaping future workforce and talent development plans that support RNLI’s strategy.
- Bring representation from the differing volunteer roles to enable frontline volunteers voice to inform approach and priorities
- Attend key meetings and workshops, offering a volunteer perspective and expertise.
- Support the promotion of an inclusive culture aligned with RNLI’s values.
What you need for this role
- Experience of operating in a senior people leadership role
- Proven ability to think strategically and offer balanced, practical views
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong working relationships.
- Experience within or knowledge of the voluntary sector
- You must be 18 years of age or older.
