About us

The RNLI’s Lifeboat Station in Abersoch is looking for a volunteer to lead the existing team in the role of Lifeboat Operations Manager.

The impact you will make

This role will help us save lives at sea by carrying out the day to day management of the lifeboat station to ensure a permanent state of readiness for service.

What you will be doing

  • Provide leadership of the operations team
  • Ensure that all operational activities are carried out to maintain the lifeboats and all associated equipment in a constant state of readiness for launching on service
  • (Optional) Authorise launch of the lifeboats
  • This role has a tenure of 3 years which can be extended to a maximum of 9 years

What you need for this role

  • Team player
  • Good communicator
  • Leadership skills
  • Local maritime knowledge (desirable)
  • IT literate (desirable)
  • Knowledge of the RNLI (desirable)
  • You must live or work within 10-15 minutes of the station and be between 18 and 70 years of age (if authorising the launch of lifeboats).
