About us
Mae Gorsaf Bad Achub yr RNLI yn Cricieth yn chwilio am wirfoddolwr i ymuno â’r tîm presennol fel Swyddog y Wasg y Bad Achub.
Sefydlwyd Gorsaf Bad Achub Cricieth ym 1853 ac mae wedi’i lleoli ar lannau gogleddol Bae Ceredigion. Ar hyn o bryd, mae’n gweithredu bad achub Iwerydd 85 dosbarth B a bad achub y glannau Arancia. Mae’r criwiau wedi cael naw gwobr am ddewrder.

Byddwch yn ein helpu i achub bywydau ar y môr trwy gynyddu ymwybyddiaeth o’r RNLI, a hynny trwy hyrwyddo gweithgarwch yr orsaf bad achub, amlygu gwaith achub bywydau ein gwirfoddolwyr a rhannu negeseuon allweddol trwy gyfryngau lleol, digidol a chymdeithasol.
Yr hyn y byddwch yn ei wneud
- Rhoi gwybod i’r cyfryngau lleol am weithgarwch achub bywydau, a hyrwyddo achubiaethau y mae’n werth rhoi sylw iddynt, digwyddiadau’r orsaf bad achub ac ymgyrchoedd yr RNLI trwy amrywiaeth o sianeli
- Cynhyrchu a dosbarthu datganiadau newydd rheolaidd gyda lluniau a/neu fideo, yn unol â fformat safonol yr RNLI, trwy e-bost, lanlwytho i Ganolfan Newyddion yr RNLI a phostio ar gyfryngau cymdeithasol
- Bod ar gael i ateb ymholiadau gan y cyfryngau
- Cefnogi neu drefnu cyfleoedd i’r cyfryngau ar gais y Tîm Ymgysylltu â’r Cyfryngau
- Briffio cynrychiolwyr yr orsaf ac aelodau’r criw ar gyfer cyfweliad neu weithredu fel llefarydd
- Rhoi gwybod i’r Rheolwr Gweithrediadau Bad Achub a’r Tîm Ymgysylltu â’r Cyfryngau Rhanbarthol am holl weithgarwch y cyfryngau a phryderon ynglŷn ag enw da
- Mynychu cyfarfodydd rheoli’r orsaf a chysylltu’n rheolaidd â chyd-swyddogion ynglŷn â gweithgarwch presennol
- Caffael a chynnal gwybodaeth gyfredol am eich gorsaf bad achub a’r RNLI

The RNLI’s Lifeboat Station in Criccieth is looking for a volunteer to join the existing team in the role of Lifeboat Press Officer
Established in 1853, Criccieth Lifeboat Station is located on the northern shores of Cardigan Bay. It currently operates a B class Atlantic 85 lifeboat. The crews have been presented with nine awards for gallantry.
The impact you will make
You will help us save lives at sea by raising awareness of the RNLI, through promoting the activity of the lifeboat station, highlighting the lifesaving work of our volunteers and sharing key messages via local, digital and social media.
What you will be doing
- Keeping local media informed of lifesaving activity, promoting newsworthy rescues, lifeboat station events and RNLI campaigns via a variety of channels
- Producing and distributing regular new releases with photos and/or video, to a standard RNLI format by email, uploading to the RNLI News Centre and posting to social media
- Being available to answer media enquiries
- Supporting or arranging media opportunities when requested by the Media Engagement Team
- Briefing station representatives and crew members for interview or acting as spokesperson
- Keeping the Lifeboat Operations Manager and Regional Media Engagement Team informed of all media activity and reputational concerns
- Attending station management meetings and liaising regularly with fellow officers about current activity
- Acquiring and maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of your lifeboat station and the RNLI

What you need for this role
- Excellent writing, communication, and IT skills
- Good interpersonal and media relations skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and be flexible
- Influencing, tact and diplomacy skills
- Interest in new media/video editing/photography
