About us
We are currently looking for a Museum Key Holder volunteer to support the Heritage Development Manager.
RNLI heritage is defined as the story of our people and service since 1824. In order to protect and preserve our history, the heritage team collect and care for objects and archives and make these accessible through our museums to the public.
The impact you will make
You will help save lives at sea by engaging museum visitors with the inspiring heritage of the RNLI, raising awareness of key safety messages and generating vital funds.
What you will be doing
- Interacting with visitors, providing a high level of customer service and ensuring that the museum and shop are a friendly and welcoming place
- Opening and closing the museum, including setting alarms and cashing up
- Supporting the other volunteers on duty
- Reporting any issues to the Heritage Development Manager
- Working with other team members to improve the museum experience, increase visitor numbers and maximise sales
- Serving customers in the shop and operating the till and credit card machine
