For 2021 the RNLI are holding a new campaign and we need your help!

We are looking for Open Garden Volunteers to work with RNLI Community Managers to research, promote and support Open Gardens for the RNLI in your region.

If you are an enthusiastic team player with good communication skills who enjoys working with the public, we would love to hear from you. The amount of time you volunteer is flexible, we’d just like to have you on board.

The impact you will make

This role will help us to increase awareness of the RNLI in communities across the UK and RoI.  You will help us to save lives by promoting Open Garden event opportunities during the summer months and build a list of potential hosts for these events for the  Open Garden season. 

What you will be doing

  • The Open Garden Ambassador will work with the Community Manager to promote, support and deliver Open Gardens for the RNLI
  • Researching and recruiting potential Open Garden hosts in your surrounding area. From large estate homes & castles to village walk about’s and friends & family garden parties who would either like to open for the public or privately.
  • Utilising local knowledge and existing networks to raise the RNLI’s Open Garden’s Campaign profile including promoting Open Garden events and researching potential local listings to advertise events.
  • Keeping in regular contact with the Community Manager with new and innovative ways to help promote the Open Garden Campaign
  • To debrief the Community Manager post event and feed into the project evaluation.
