About us

You will help us save lives at sea by promoting a proactive safety culture for all our people.

What you will be doing

  • Being a local advocate for safety, health, and environment.
  • Actively promoting, supporting, and encouraging volunteers and employees to engage with safety best practice.
  • Encourage communication and discussion of all RNLI SHE messages and briefings in a timely and consistent manner.
  • Reporting any problems or ideas for improvement with health and safety systems.
  • Support managers with ensuring local safety noticeboards contain up to date and relevant information.
  • Feed into Regional SHE committee meetings via the local representative providing the voice of the customer.
  • Signpost and promote where to find safety, health, and environmental information or how to seek further support.
  • Identify SHE awareness requirements in your area, report to and if necessary, liaise with the Safety team to organise coaching or training opportunities.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Experience of interacting with volunteers
  • Passionate and keen interest in safety, health, environment.
  • Ability to prioritise effectively.
  • You do not need to be a safety professional or hold safety related qualifications.
