Kessock Lifeboat Station provides essential lifesaving work to prevent the loss of life in the Beauly and Moray Firth Areas. The station has an excellent opportunity for members of the local community to become part of the team, apply your skills and knowledge in a charity setting and gain the satisfaction of playing your part in the community in which we serve.

The impact you will make

This role as Lifeboat Operations Manager (LOM) will help us save lives at sea by carrying out the day to day management of the lifeboat station to ensure a permanent state of readiness for service.

What you will be doing

  • Authorise launch of the lifeboats
  • Provide leadership of the operations team
  • Ensure that all operational activities are carried out to maintain the lifeboats and all associated equipment in a constant state of readiness for launching on service

What you need for this role

  • Team player
  • Good communicator
  • Leadership skills
  • Local maritime knowledge
  • Have capacity and availability commit to training
  • Personal circumstances or a compassionate employer that would allow you to respond to service calls
  • Live or work within 10 minutes drive of the station and be between 17 and 70 years of age
  • Previous management experience is essential
  • IT literate (desirable)
  • Knowledge of the RNLI (desirable)

Applicants will be subject to a selection process with successful applicants being subject to a one year probation period in order to assess an individuals ability become a competent member of the management team and display the necessary behaviors and commitment associated with working as part of a team.
