About Us
The RNLI is looking for a volunteer to support the Lifeboat Operations Manager in the role of Volunteer Boathouse Manager.
Silloth Lifeboat Station operates from a newly built boathouse on the site of the original Victorian lifeboat station. It’s located on the north-west coast of England in an area of outstanding natural beauty.
The Lifeboat Crew are a welcoming, close-knit team of volunteers representing the demographics of the island and headed up by the Lifeboat Operations Manager and Launch Authorities. All boat crew follow the RNLI’s national Operation Competency Framework Training Scheme and respond to pagers when there is a request to launch the lifeboats. The wider team includes volunteer fundraisers, and water safety volunteers.
The impact you will make
This role will help us save lives at sea by co-ordinating access to the lifeboat station for a range of people, ensuring a safe and healthy environment during the visit.
What you will be doing
- The role of the Boathouse Manager is to co-ordinate access to the lifeboat station for RNLI officials, contractors, deliveries, visiting groups and utilities personnel at lifeboat stations

What you need for this role
- A dependable schedule and the flexibility to support the team when needs evolve

- Live within 30 minutes of the station
- Knowledge of the RNLI is advantageous but not a requirement
