Heritage Research Volunteer - Poole/Remote
About us
RNLI Heritage is defined as the story of our people and service since 1824. In order to preserve our history, the heritage team collect and care for objects and archives and make these accessible to researchers.
The role of Heritage Research Volunteer on our National Lottery Heritage Funded project, RNLI Stories of Courage 1939-45, offers a unique opportunity to join our volunteer team and explore the history of the RNLI during the Second World War.
You will undertake research based on RNLI collections, archive material and shared family histories relating to RNLI rescues from the Second World War era. Working alongside the RNLI heritage team, you will assist with aspects of the project in need of research support which could include:
- Developing research content for project displays, events and community engagement
- Supporting with aspects of temporary exhibition development and delivery
- Developing research content for talks and tours focusing on the RNLI’s Second World War stories
We are looking for enthusiastic individuals willing to help support this project. There are a range of onsite or remote tasks to be involved in which can be done flexibly over this two-year project.
