About us

The RNLI’s Lifeboat Station in Cleethorpes is looking for a volunteer to expand their involvement with the existing team in the role of Lifeboat Training Co-ordinator. 

Cleethorpes station history can be traced back as far as 1868. The lifeboat crews have been presented with 10 awards for gallantry. The Lifeboat Crew are all volunteers, headed up by the Lifeboat Operations Manager and Launch Authorities and supported by a Shore Crew team. All boat and shore crew follow the RNLI’s national Competency Based Training Scheme and respond to pagers when there is a request to launch the lifeboats. The wider team includes volunteer fundraisers, shop volunteers and youth education presenters. 

The impact you will make 

This role will help us save lives at sea by co-ordinating, planning and recording all aspects of training at the lifeboat station so that all crew are adequately prepared for service and the required standards are met. 

What you will be doing 

  • Maintain station training records
  • Co-ordinate training with the Lifeboat Operations Manager, Coxswain/Helm and Mechanic
  • Contact Area Assessor and Divisional Assessor Trainer with regard to assessments
  • Maintain the station training plan
  • Carry out succession planning with the Lifeboat Operations Manager
