About Us

Volunteering as a member of the Lifeboat Visits Team and being part of the RNLI’s Tower lifeboat station is an important role within the charity as we aim to save the lives of people of all age groups through our fantastic visits programme. 

We’re very excited to open our brand-new Tower Visitor Centre to the public, where we will be running visits on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Plus, potential ad-hoc tours for larger groups.

 As part of the recruitment process candidates will be invited to a recruitment day in mid-February at the station. Invitations will be sent out during week commencing 2 February 2026.

What you will be doing 

  • Giving inspiring guided tours of the lifeboat station to visitors including groups of young people and adults
  • Creating a welcoming and friendly environment within the station for visitors
  • Ensuring key RNLI messages are communicated to visitors
  • Supporting the RNLI's One Crew ethos

The impact you will make 

You will promote the work of the lifeboat station to the local community and visitors, help raise vital funds and save lives at sea by sharing key water safety messages. 

What you need for this role 

  • Enthusiasm
  • Good communication skills and confident speaking to groups
  • Have experience in delivering presentations to varying sizes of groups. 
  • Good team working skills
  • Comfortable interacting with young people
