About us 

The RNLI is the charity that saves lives at sea. We provide, on call, a 24 hour lifeboat search and rescue service around the UK and Ireland, and a seasonal lifeguard service. With our lifeboats, lifeguards, safety messages and flood rescue we are committed to saving more lives.

The RNLI’s Lifeboat Station in Mallaig is looking for a volunteer to join the existing team in the role of Lifeboat Management Group Chair.

Located in a working port on the west coast of Scotland, Mallaig Lifeboat Station has operated an all-weather lifeboat for nearly 60 years. The crews have been presented with five awards for gallantry.

The role of the Lifeboat Management Group Chair is to provide local leadership to ensure that all functions of the local station are co-ordinated by holding regular meetings, developing local relationships and communicating effectively with all stakeholders.

It is a good opportunity for the right person to join a motivated and enthusiastic local team and have the satisfaction of contributing to saving lives at sea without even getting wet!

If you have good communication skills, enjoy working as part of a team, have an interest in the RNLI and the ability to chair a meeting effectively this could be the role for you. No maritime experience necessary.
