Are you looking to make a real difference in your community? Volunteering as a member of the RNLI’s Lifeboat Retail and Visits Team at Shoreham Lifeboat Station offers a unique chance to be part of a vital mission: raising awareness about water safety, generating life-saving funds, and supporting the work that saves lives at sea.
The Impact you will make
As a volunteer, you will represent Shoreham Lifeboat Station by sharing its incredible work with visitors and the local community, playing a key role in raising vital funds for the RNLI's life-saving efforts, and promoting water safety messages to help keep people safe.
What you will be doing
- Give inspiring guided tours of the Visitor Centre to visitors including groups of young people and adults
- Delivering the smooth day-to-day running of the shop and maintaining a safe environment.
- Welcome visitors to the station with warmth and friendliness while providing exceptional customer service.
- Championing the RNLI, its key messages, One Crew ethos and building its reputation in the local area.
- Operating the till (including end of day cashing up) and credit card machine
- Make Management aware of any issues

What you need for this role
- Enthusiasm
- Good communication skills and confident speaking to groups, including young people
- Confident handling money
- Ability to contribute as part of a team
- Comfortable volunteering in a customer service environment
