Mae Gorsaf Bad Achub yr RNLI yn Borth yn chwilio am wirfoddolwr i ymuno â’r tîm presennol yn rôl Swyddog y Wasg Bad Achub.
Wedi'i sefydlu ym 1966 ac wedi'i lleoli yn hen bentrefan pysgota'r Borth ac ym mhen deheuol y traeth, mae'r orsaf yn gweithredu bad achub dosbarth D gyda'r glannau. Mae ei chriwiau wedi cael chwe gwobr am ddewrder.

Beth fyddwch chi'n ei wneud
• Rhoi'r wybodaeth ddiweddaraf i'r cyfryngau lleol am weithgarwch achub bywyd, hyrwyddo achubion sy'n haeddu newyddion, digwyddiadau gorsaf bad achub ac ymgyrchoedd yr RNLI trwy amrywiaeth o sianeli
• Cynhyrchu a dosbarthu datganiadau newydd rheolaidd gyda ffotograffau a/neu fideo, i fformat safonol yr RNLI trwy e-bost, eu huwchlwytho i Ganolfan Newyddion yr RNLI a'u postio i'r cyfryngau cymdeithasol
• Bod ar gael i ateb ymholiadau'r cyfryngau
• Cefnogi neu drefnu cyfleoedd cyfryngau ar gais y Tîm Ymgysylltu â'r Cyfryngau
• Briffio cynrychiolwyr yr orsaf ac aelodau'r criw ar gyfer cyfweliad neu weithredu fel llefarydd
• Rhoi'r wybodaeth ddiweddaraf i Reolwr Gweithrediadau'r Badau Achub a'r Tîm Ymgysylltu â'r Cyfryngau Rhanbarthol am yr holl weithgareddau cyfryngau a phryderon ynghylch enw da

About us
The RNLI’s Lifeboat Station in Borth is looking for a volunteer to join the existing team in the role of Lifeboat Press Officer
Established in 1966 and situated in the old fishing hamlet of Borth and at the south end of the beach, the station operates an inshore D class lifeboat. Its crews have been presented with six awards for gallantry. The Lifeboat Crew are all volunteers, headed up by the Lifeboat Operations Manager and Launch Authorities and supported by a Shore Crew team. The wider team includes volunteer fundraisers, shop volunteers and water safety presenters.
The impact you will make
You will help us save lives at sea by raising awareness of the RNLI, through promoting the activity of the lifeboat station, highlighting the lifesaving work of our volunteers and sharing key messages via local, digital and social media.
What you will be doing
- Keeping local media informed of lifesaving activity, promoting newsworthy rescues, lifeboat station events and RNLI campaigns via a variety of channels
- Producing and distributing regular new releases with photos and/or video, to a standard RNLI format by email, uploading to the RNLI News Centre and posting to social media
- Being available to answer media enquiries
- Supporting or arranging media opportunities when requested by the Communications Team
- Briefing station representatives and crew members for interview or acting as spokesperson
- Keeping the Lifeboat Operations Manager and Communications Team informed of all media activity and reputational concerns
- Attending station management meetings and liaising regularly with fellow officers about current activity
- Acquiring and maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of your lifeboat station and the RNLI

What you need for this role
- You must be 18 or over to carry out this role
- Excellent writing, communication, and IT skills
- Good interpersonal and media relations skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and be flexible
- Influencing, tact and diplomacy skills
- Interest in new media/video editing/photography
